In the coming decades the Nordic workforce and the population will become older although this process of ageing will be unevenly distributed across the Nordic regions. This study estimates the size of the potential regional labour supply up to 2030. The similarities and differences evidenced between the Nordic countries are analysed with a number of under-utilised or misused labour potentials identified. Policies tasked with mobilising the working age population, primarily to maximise the number of persons in work across the Nordic countries, are also reviewed. The study ends with some policy recommendations designed to improve the situation of marginal groups in the Nordic labour markets.
