Coordination of network operations and system responsibility in the Nordic electricity market
Responsible organisation
2006 (English)Other (Other (popular science, discussion, etc.))
Abstract [en]

The Nordic Council of Ministers advocated a further harmonisation and integration of the Nordic electricity market in their declarations from Akureyri in 2004 and Narsarsuaq in 2005. To follow up the declaration and the process of harmonisation in the Nordic electricity market, Econ was commissioned to investigate paths towards a more closely integrated market. Several key harmonisation issues are identified. Optimal grid investments and price signals to market participants to handle congestions and costs in the grid are probably the most important. Is a joint Nordic TSO the solution?
