Ethics in Product Tests 'Ethics in Product Tests' is more than a traditional report. It gives the reader a tool to identify the ethical problems in the production of a specific consumer product - ready to copy and use directly. But the report also invites you to join the journey made by the Nordic consumer magazines in trying to develop this tool. The magazines have a long-standing tradition for bringing tests which enable consumers to choose the best product at the best price. But today these parameters cannot stand alone. Many consumers want to be able to buy products which have been produced in a way which takes account of the environment and human beings. They want to know the story behind the product. The report describes the work of defining how an ethical product test could be constructed. It tells about the deliberations of the researchers and the project group in the course of the process. It lists the dilemmas and discloses the sub-conclusions as well as the final conclusions and recommendations. The tool consists of three parts: a questionnaire for the producer whose product is to be tested, a manual for the producer and a manual for the verificator. It is our hope that the report - apart from being a test tool - will provide an insight into the very complex problems connected with testing for the conditions under which a product has been produced.
