The background for this workshop is to be found in the conflicts that regularly arise between those who manage the fishery and those who practise the fishery. This happens in spite of the fact that the parties in principle have the same intention: On one hand the fishers want a fishery they can live by and with, on the other hand the management formally wants to make fisheries sustainable, biologically, economically and socially.
