This is report no. 4, the final one about the ESPON 2006 programme to the Nordic Council of Minister, NERP from the project expert, seconded to the ESPON Coordination Unit in Luxembourg.More information about the European Spatial Planning Observatory Network (ESPON) programme 2000-2006 can be found in report no. 1, 2 and 3, which can be down loaded from the homepage of the Nordic Council of Minister. See below.The first report was presented to NERP in spring 2004, the second report in December 2004 and the third report was presented in spring 2005. This forth and final report will be presented to NERP in December 2005. At the informal meeting for the EU Ministers responsible for regional policy and spatial development in Luxembourg in May 2005, a further step in support of a continuation of the ESPON pro-gramme within the new Structural Fund programme 2007-2013 was taken, as all ministers expressed interest in an ESPON II programme. This forth report is to a large extent based upon the executive summaries of all the reports mentioned in the list of content. Most of these projects have not previously been presented in the reports to NERP. As such this forth report, together with the previous 3 reports conclude a full and final presentation of all ESPON projects, both those already finalised as well as those still being in the process of being developed.
