The Critical Raw Materials Act contains regulations aimed at increased waste prevention and re-use of discarded products and materials as a part of a broader strategy to reduce supply risks for critical raw materials (CRM). Through waste prevention and re-use, consumption of a product or material is either avoided or prolonged thereby reducing the need for critical raw materials necessary for additional production. From a set of 90 possible measures to increase waste prevention or reuse for CRM-intensive products and materials, a set of 13 measures are given an extended analysis in this report.
