The Nordic Carbon Neutral Bauhaus (NCNB) was launched in response to the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative, emphasizing carbon neutrality, social inclusion, and new aesthetics in the built environment. The Nordic interpretation of NEB has aimed to integrate sustainable building culture with carbon neutrality, hence aligning with broader Nordic policies on sustainable construction. The project has highlighted the critical role of cultural change connecting nature, design and policy in shaping a greener built environment. By embedding NEB values into Nordic architectural policies, the initiative lays the groundwork for future sustainability efforts. The NCNB project demonstrates the Nordic commitment to climate-conscious architecture, emphasizing that sustainable transformation requires broad participation, cultural awareness, and long-term policy integration.
