To advance the Nordic co-operation in data gathering on LGBTI+ people related to health and wellbeing, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) organized a two-day seminar in Helsinki in October 2025. The participants represented public institutions and statistical authorities, university researchers, and civil society organizations from all Nordic countries. The seminar report includes a summary of presentations and panel discussions held at the seminar. Their topics were:

• history and current pressures, anti-gender politics and influencing
• LGBTI-related reporting in official statistics
• LGBTI-related data gathering in national surveys
• limitations of public data gathering compared to targeted surveys and qualitative research
• legal and ethical aspects and concerns
• how to improve the methodology, reporting and resources
• enhancing Nordic collaboration
