Nordic-BalticQuantumEcosystem: Overview of the quantum technologylandscape across the Nordic and Balticregion
Responsible organisation
2025 (English)Report (Other academic)
Abstract [en]

Quantum technologies are rapidly emerging as transformative forces across multiple domains. While quantum sensing already has tangible applications, most other quantum technologies, especially computing and communication, are still emerging technologies from a business advantage point of view. In this formative phase, research institutions, universities, and industry players are working in close collaboration to push the boundaries of what is possible.

This report offers a comprehensive mapping of the Nordic-Baltic business ecosystem for quantum technologies, focusing on commercial actors, emerging startups, innovation networks, and the business models that are taking shape. While a parallel study will examine the region’s academic and research landscape in greater detail, this report places the spotlight on market-facing developments and the growing potential for industrial and societal value creation.
