Nordic Land Use Conference – Alnarp, Sweden, December 10–11, 2025 documents a Nordic meeting point on one of the region’s most complex policy challenges: land use. The report synthesises discussions among policymakers, researchers, authorities and practitioners on how planning and governance can address competing demands for food production, renewable energy, climate mitigation, biodiversity protection and urban development. Drawing on examples such as Denmark’s Green Tripartite Agreement and Norway’s soil protection policies, it highlights the need for political leadership, solid knowledge bases and collaborative approaches. The thematic chapters cover solar energy expansion, functional landscapes, stakeholder cooperation, and spatial tools and data, identifying shared challenges and opportunities for strengthened Nordic cooperation on sustainable land use.
