Abstract [en]

After twelve OECD country case studies with extensive research and stakeholder engagement, Perspectives Climate Research has summarised best practices on the Paris Alignment of export credit agencies (ECAs). The guide serves as a practical toolkit to ECAs and their respective governments helping them to formulate and implement policies for aligning export finance with national and global climate goals. The extensive analysis of best practices shows that ECAs have a large potential to foster the transition from carbon-intensive investments to clean energy solutions. To achieve this potential, all ECAs in the OECD and beyond should implement similar best practices across five Paris alignment dimensions (transparency, fossil fuel exclusion, mitigation, climate finance and engagement).
