The Nordic Smart Government & Business (NSG&B) 4.0 programme aims to digitalise Nordic SMEs by easening administrative burdens for SMEs to conduct trade and data sharing seamlessly cross-border in the Nordic region and beyond. This report covers the period from 2021-2024 in which government agencies and private sector partners in the Nordic countries have developed and tested solutions for automatic data exchange and reporting. Key achievements include pilots that show that it is possible to fully automate cross-border trade using eDocuments over the Peppol network directly between the ERP-systems of Nordic companies, a common Nordic API for public business registry data, a shared Nordic vocabulary for financial income statements, and contributions to the EU’s eWallet initiative as well as a method for automation of cross-border VAT reporting (ViDA).
