The theme of this year’s magazine is Nordic registries and the exciting collaborative work Nordic researchers are able to perform when granted joint registry access.

It's ten years since NordForsk was established and this milestone is marked by an anniversary insert looking back at the early days and important events that have shaped NordForsk to the organisation it is today. The anniversary insert includes NordForsk Director Gunnel Gustafsson's thoughts on the development of NordForsk during the last five years. Former head of department at the Nordic Council of Ministers Department for Knowledge and Welfare, Gard Titlestad, talks about NordForsk's history and the strategic priorities of the organisation in the years to come.

In this edition of NordForsk Magasin you can read interviews with the Norwegian Minister of Research and Higher Education, Tora Aasland and Chair of the Management Board for the Top-level Research Initiative, Rolf Annerberg. We also learn more about a PPP PhD research project on human embryonic stem cells (hESC), and Chair of the NordForsk Board, Gudrun Nordal shares her perspectives on the way forward.

2010 marks five years since NordForsk was founded.
